       More about me...

      About Kira Lynn

      posted on May 18, 2009

Let me try to give you my whole imagination before you get too bored to continue reading. My name is Jessica, but I prefer to go by Kira. I am currently 16, turning 17 really soon, a few months. I'm trying not to be too specific because of the spammers/identity theft. Right now I am living with my grandma, my parents left when I was around the age of ten. I'm not here to say my housing conditions are horrid or anything. It's not really the present I am here to write about, it's my future.
I have always been a very future forward type of person. I am a junior and have a 3.94GPA. I am hoping for scholarships to any college. HOPING. My grandma didn't expect to have to pay for anything like that, so she didn't start saving up until I was placed in her lap. I'm not asking for money for school, I had a job for 3 years(illegally starting at the age of 13), as a swim instructor, but I got laid off because of budget cuts. I think it is possible to get another job to help pay for college books and tuition at any JC school.
But I am posting this in the 'Dreams' category because what I am really looking forward to is living in my own house. Every girl wants their own house, to have their kids and partner, somewhere they can call their own and feel safe. I want that feeling. I was calculating, houses will cost roughly 600k, then all I need is the money to take out a loan, which is 20%, so I would need 120k to take out a loan for a house. Then, I was hoping to have a house once I get finished with college, so 120,000 divided by 5(for five years) is 24,000. Then divide it by 12(for 12 months in a year), that is 2000 dollars.
I would need only 2000 dollars per month for the next five years. That would range how much it would take for me to feel completely confident with where my life is heading. The world is in a panic, I want to feel safe knowing I will be able to support myself. I will be trying to get two jobs this summer to pay for my first year of college; this is because I am graduating high school early, a year ahead of my class. I'm ready to grow up, and move on in my life, but it's impossible when money limits are holding me back.

I am going to Major in Business Management for Areospace technology. And Minor in Mechanics. I did forget about interest and everything.. So this is a bummer. I am though going to push forward for just getting the money for the down payment for the loan. Then everything else, I hope will fall into place. Rent 3 of my rooms in the house, so make the payments. Thank you for your time and support. ^.^

Most of us here would love to have a home worth $600,000.  I know that I would.  However, my dear you have seriously miscalculated!

You did not include something called INTEREST.  As a rule of thumb, you can pretty much expect to actually PAY back almost 3 times the amount of the sales price.

So, you can pretty much to actually pay 3 x 600,000 dollars when its all said in done. So, you are more  than likely looking at paying almost a million & a half for a 600,000 dollars house.  One has to pay payment, interest, insurance, and home taxes.

Now that does not even include 'upkeep' of the home.  If the house is in an area that requires home owners association dues, that is another payment.

Oh yes, its good to dream.  And, the thing is you CAN make all your dreams come true.  It will take alot hardwork on your part.  And, of course, 'time'.

Make sure you major in a good field that have 'high-paying' pay.  Of course, you could marry a rich man, but they are in very high demand.  Therefore, you will need to get a job where you can pay for your own 'dreams', just in case.

          I wish you the best.

Reply to Kira Lynn:--So you think your ready to go out and get yourself a house eh? Your 16 years old, what are you thinking? You figure it would cost you $2000 a month for a $600,000 house. You had better redo your math my dear, that $2000 is just the payment on the 140k you borrowed for the down payment, what about the $480k left oweing on the house? You also have to figure insurance, taxes, heat, and all the rest of your utilities..What makes you think you could even afford a $600k house? You say your mature for your age and that your ready to have your own house. You are not even ready to pay for your own groceries. Why don't you just stay where you are and go to college and then start out in a nice small apartment and work up from there like the rest of us had to do. Good luck sheshe030
